Un appuntamento atteso a livello mondiale quello del Record Store Day, data di quest’anno da segnare sul calendario: 21 aprile 2018. Ma da dove nasce, qual è la storia di un giorno così fondamentale?
L’appuntamento è fisso da 11 anni: ogni terzo sabato del mese di aprile di ogni anno, lo scopo: celebrare oltre 700 negozi indipendenti di dischi degli USA oltre che centinaia di migliaia di negozi musicali indipendenti di tutto il mondo i quali si fanno promotori di anno in anno della musica mondiale e di tutto ciò concernente l’audiofilia.

Anno di nascita del Record Store Day: 2007. Giovane se si pensa che vanta già centinaia e centinaia di registrazioni e di artisti partecipanti con apparizioni speciali, performance musicali, rassegne ed incontri con i propri fans; senza contare l’organizzazione di mostre, stampe di vinili e CD in edizioni limitate e molto altro creato appositamente per l’occasione.

Si dice in giro, anzi si legge perchè i “Leoni da tastiera” sono dietro molti schermi, che il vinile sia un mondo in via di estinzione e che il recente rilancio sia solo una moda creata per chi voglia arricchirsi vendendoli; facciamoci una grassa risata per queste frasi ricche di pochezza mentale. La verità è questo mondo non è solo permeato di note musicali che si susseguono giro dopo giro, ma accoglie tutti i 5 sensi: l’odore del cartone e del vinile, lo scorrimento delle dita tra una copertina e l’altra mentre lo sguardo si perde tra titoli e titoli, il poter parlare di gruppi e concerti che rievocano emozioni e ricordi di un pezzo di storia che si poggiava su valori più semplici e, molto probabilmente, più genuini, meno trafficati. Questo è il mondo del vinile e dell’audiofilia.

Per un giorno la “realtà” virtuale di Spotify e compagni viene messa totalmente da parte. E tutto questo accade anche nel bel paese italiano che sta diventando più attento a quello accade oltreoceano dando la giusta rilevanza. Da far notare inoltre che la cosìddetta Vinyl Mania sta tentando e coinvolgendo anche i più giovani i quali si rivelano degli ottimi frequentatori di negozi indipendenti, alla faccia anche di chi ripete continuamente che dalla Generazione 2.0 non nascerà artisticamente niente.

Chiunque ripete che la musica su vinile andrebbe celebrata ogni giorno, noi siamo già felici che ci sia un giorno interamente dedicato al vinile a livello mondiale, un giorno in grado di ricordarci che l’unico “strumento” in grado di riunire e suscitare un “qualcosa” dentro l’animo umano sia proprio la musica: giovanissimi e meno giovanissimi, lingue diverse, stili di vita differenti e tutto quello che volete, ma quanti di voi non hanno mai sorriso ascoltando un pezzo, o pianto o saltato o tirato pugni e calci per aria (senza ricordare il fatto che tutti cantiamo sotto la doccia)? Dopotutto quando per 9 mesi ce ne stiamo in panciolle aspettando di venire allo scoperto cosa pensate di ricevere dal mondo esterno? Non ne vediamo niente, non ne sentiamo l’odore, niente piatti di pastasciutta, solo suoni. Quindi molta musica, non male come primo approccio al mondo e alla vita, no?

Ma veniamo al 2018, quest’anno ci saranno una serie di uscite sfiziose annunciate ultimamente dal sito del Record Store Day, ambasciatore, anzi ambasciatori saranno i Run the Jewels (duo hip hop statunitense), inutile dirvi (o ribardirvi) che per noi di Ernyaldisko è un evento più atteso di Natale. Il 2018 farà contenti sostenitori di molti generi musicali, difatti vedremo per la prima volta un titolo dei Led Zeppelin, l’Italia avrà un suo importante capitolo e sarà rappresentata da Mina, De Andrè, Pino Daniele e Ja Ga Brothers. Bowie avrà ben 4 titoli, Ryuichi Sakamoto si presenta con 2 inediti, gli storici gallesi The Alarm tornano alla ribalta. Gli appassionati dei beats Hip Hop e Funk ovviamente saranno rappresentati da Run the Jewels, Cypress Hill, Notorius B.I.G. e molto altro.

Non dimentichiamo che ci saranno titoli pubblicati per la prima volta in vinile che coinvolgeranno Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Soundgarden, jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash e molti altri.
Appassionati di Colonne sonore fatevi avanti perchè per voi ci sarà un’uscita da non perdere dedicata a Twin Peaks; ci sarà anche spazio per la musica classica con un’edizione speciale di Casta Diva di Maria Callas. E per i più piccoli? Ma molto piccoli intendiamo! Per loro ci sarà un album di canzoni per bambini di Kenny Loggins scritte da niente meno che John Lennon, Rickie Lee Jones, Paul Simon e Jimmy Webb; così avranno da discutere tra un compito di matematica e l’altro, chissà che non esca un tema di italiano sul vinile.
